Description: Seminar, three hours. Recommended preparation: command of literary Chinese. Reading and discussions of selections from one traditional Chinese classic (Confucian Five Classics, others), with introduction to exegetical history, secondary scholarship, and research methodology. Topics vary from year to year. May be repeated for credit. In Progress grading (credit to be given only on completion of course 242B).
