Cryogenics and Low-Temperature Processes

Description: Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour; outside study, seven hours. Requisites: courses 102A, 102B (or Materials Science 130). Fundamentals of cryogenics and cryoengineering science pertaining to industrial low-temperature processes. Basic approaches to analysis of cryofluids and envelopes needed for operation of cryogenic systems; low-temperature behavior of matter, optimization of cryosystems and other special conditions. Concurrently scheduled with course C111. Letter grading.
