Intermediate Engineering Thermodynamics

Description: Lecture, four hours; outside study, eight hours. Enforced requisite: course 102B. Principles and engineering applications of statistical and phenomenological thermodynamics. Determination of partition function in terms of simple molecular models and spectroscopic data; nonideal gases; phase transitions and adsorption; nonequilibrium thermodynamics and coupled transport processes. Letter grading.
