Winter 2025 - You have to attend every single lecture otherwise the slides will make 0 sense. Just a midterm and final and 5 map quizzes (all the same map), no extra work which I appreciated. I recommend recording lectures because slides have little to no text and you may miss key details that are spoken out loud if you aren't paying attention. Final was 'cumulative,' but he just reused some questions from the midterm on it. He provides study guides for each test/quiz. I got an A+ by obsessively taking notes down to the exact phrasing of every sentence he said, and drawing out everything when studying. By far the most studying I had done for a class (but Lower Central American Arch/history is not my field of study, so keep that in mind). Would probably not take this again as I'm not studying this area of the world. A lot of people did really poorly on the midterm. Make quizlets, do the readings. Overall, great professor, very chill, and wears great shirts.
