dr. hicks is one of those great teachers that grows on you as you get to know him. if you're willing to put in the effort and you're focused on learning you'll love his class. the most important thing is that you know how to count to seven cause it's all about the seven steps.

Hicks is a really nice professor. He finished presenting all the material two weeks before final. Isn't that the nicest thing?! Two whole weeks to review for the final. and guess what? He threw us a beach party, too!

Professor Hicks is nice and presented Heat Transfer in a good manner. However his surfing style is out-dated.

Prof Hicks is an okay professor. I was not challenged at all in his class.

Hicks presents heat transfer in a way that makes you actually think about waht is going on and why. He beats this into the students so they can solve all the basic homework and book problems, but also real world and more general and less well defined problems that frequently occur in engineering. His class gives you a good understanding of what actually goes on in heat transport. He is also very concerned about student learning.

The 101 series is probably the most important
set of classes you take as chemical engineer, so I'm glad
he's teaching it, because I can follow what's going
on. Hicks does a great job of relating mathematical equations
to real world situations. He simultaneously provides a fun
and professional atmosphere. Just watch out for those
balances.
