This class was quite boring often times but fairly easy. I got good scores on my midterm, final, and writing assignments, but a B in participation, which I feel prevented me from switching from B+ to an A or A-. Participation is worth 25% of the grade and even though I attended all sections and spoke in many of them, I guess the quality of my participation was a B, hence the overal B+……. I wouldn’t take this class again but if you do speak and input many things in discussion. I also feel you don’t really know your status in the class until the end because we are not updated, and the grading is sort of weird.
This class is the easiest GE I've ever taken. Actually, maybe one of the easiest classes I've taken in general (like easier than highschool AP Euro (although tbf AP Euro was a lot)). There were three HW assignments and one essay for the whole quarter, and each HW assignment took about 10 minutes to complete. The writing assignment took a little bit longer, but it was *basically* a watered down DBQ. Discussion sections have "required reading" but you really don't need to read anything in order to get by, as long as you come prepared with something to say (or not, you could just wing it and get full points).
All in all, incredibly easy class 10/10 five stars 3 thumbs up
Super easy history GE if that's what you're looking for. Prof Mc Clendon was insanely nice and funny though some of her lectures at times were a bit boring. The readings were also super easy and quick to read, often being only about 5 pages long per week. We did, however, have 1 book that we had to read in whole which was the Daughter of Time which was actually quite amusing imo. There was also only 2 short one-page papers we had to write but the prompts were very easy and based upon some of the readings. Furthermore, we had like 2 library labs that sent us to either Powell or YRL during class times that were accompanied by quick, easy worksheets due by the end of said class time. Participation in discussion is mandatory and visiting her office hour once is also mandatory, though I only stayed for 10 mins which counted. Overall, the class was very laid-back and easy to follow. Take it! You won't regret it as long as you do the short readings and take notes in class.
