I took Sociology 101 during Winter 2021. The class was asynchronous due to the pandemic, but the discussion section was synchronous (i.e., attendance was mandatory via Zoom). Max was the TA who led the discussion section I was enrolled in and I am so grateful that he was the TA for Sociology 101 when I took the course. I truly learned a lot from him, especially during his office hours, as he knew the theorists and their theories well—he answered EVERY question I had during office hours EVERY week. Additionally, he was always willing to help students so long as they reached out for help. I believe I scored well on the midterm, final, and final paper because of him and how he set up his discussion section. Overall, I really enjoyed Max being the TA and getting to know him as he genuinely cares about students (1) understanding the course material and (2) developing their critical thinking skills. If I could have him as a TA again and/or take a class of his, I definitely would!

I had max for soc 102 and omg I hope I never have him again. He's so passive aggressive. He's a lot nicer during office hours but even then he makes me uncomfortable when asking questions because I thought he would explode. Him and Jepson (Soc 102 prof) together were horrible.
