Quarter: Spring 2019
Grade: P

This class was just 1-unit, but I wish Lily taught it as a full experience, because the topic is super engaging and interesting, and she is full of life and excitement because it's her area of expertise. She is doing research with music and cultures, and I find that admirable, more than the other research I have seen, just because this makes people more aware and less ignorant of other cultures, and become more open through the use of music. Music heals the soul and brings people together. Would take this class over and over again if I could. We also got to learn some guitar songs, play with an indigenous culture's instruments, and learn about everyone's culture and music, as well as musical background. We all got to record two songs in the recording studio, and there were some talented students in our class that did amazing solos. Overall, I was super excited to come to class, Lily reminded me of the cutest asian mom, she was just so happy to teach us music and about her research. More than I can say for other professors doing research in their field.
