Quarter: Spring 2016
Grade: A
March 20, 2018

Class was on Latinx Families in the US. Took this class a few years back.

Abrego always lectures like she's tired or would rather be anywhere else. Makes you lose your passion over the material when a professor makes the topics sound boring and unappealing. She comes off a bit pretentious since she loves talking about how her articles win awards. She also loves talking negatively about white people and their families which is interesting since there were a few in the class though she probably did not care. Except for one lecture on sterilization of women in LA, material is somewhat relatable yet not very innovative if you are a Latinx individual. Grading wise, its a pretty easy A. Just talk in section and agree with popular mentality. She also makes the final assignment seem really difficult (it is not). My TA also seemed sort of lazy. On the plus side, she is good at answering your emails and is willing to see you in office hours if needed.

Would I recommend her or take her again? Honestly no. But if you want an A, you will be fine.
