Everybody should take this class at some point in their college career. Professor Fink is an incredible teacher and the subject matter is relevant for the rest of your life as it discusses certain aspects of employment law and dos and don'ts in the workplace.
It is an utter shame that Professor Fink is being pushed out of the Communication Studies Department. Having taken several Communications classes with different professors I can confidently say that Professor Fink is one of the best. He is committed to his students and always makes himself available although he is a full time lawyer as well. Additionally, he encourages students to speak up in class and strives to introduce students to different viewpoints.

This is one of the best classes I have taken in the Labor & Workplace Studies Minor. It really puts the "Workplace" in "Labor & Workplace Studies". I've learned immensely useful information about employment and labor laws in this class, and gained an increased understanding of how these effect the workplace (both union and non union).

Great coverage of harassment/discrimination law. Very confusing concept that Fink teaches very clearly. As an LS Minor, I want to help people who are marginalized in the workplace. Knowing the law in this area is soooo valuable, because I now know the difference between "legally actionable" discrimination vs. rude treatment that can't be fought in court.
