Casey's amazing! I haven't gotten my grade back yet and there's a fairly high chance I've gotten a C, but that's not on her, that's on me! She's an incredible teacher and I like her a lot. She gives a ton of extra credit, is clear in her lecturing, and structures her tests fairly - they're not direct copies of her study guide, but she doesn't surprise you with concepts that you barely touched on. 10/10 would recommend Casey.

I have never left one of these but this woman is Gods gift to UCLA toxic pre-med culture. As a student of color who has to fight to maintain daily sanity I cry at how beautiful and inspiring she is. This is what God had in mind when he created the term teacher! She will have you recognize that you can do it and pre Ned is for you if it’s something you’ve been called to.

Dr. Casey is the most beautiful human being I've ever met. Usually when people complement professors, it's either one of two things: 1) they're really cool and nice but aren't very good lecturers or 2) they're really knowledgeable and smart, but kind of a dick. Dr. Casey is cool, funny, nice, smart, helpful, kind, humble. She's literally any positive adjective you can think of.. With her awesome personality, her extra credit opportunities (rare in south campus), and fair (but still challenging) exams, we are looking at the future best professor at UCLA. Take her for as many classes as you can!

I love her, I love, I love her. She's extremely funny and helpful, and willing to learn the names of all the students that come to her office.

Not going to lie, Chem 14CL is a pretty work-heavy course. Just as you finish one pre/post lab, you find yourself immediately preparing another one. However, you can always go to her office hours and she will do the best she can to guide you to the right answers in the labs. She also makes sure she has plenty of office hours. She had office hours 3 times a week for my quarter and everyday during finals week up until the final.

That being said, unfortunately a lot of your 14CL experience will be dependent on your TA, not her. The points on your lab reports are decided by your TAs, and not her. The midterm and final, however, are decided by her and they are completely fair. She gives plenty of resources for you to study from and if you know the material, you should easily be able to ace her tests.

Take her!

Class was pretty easy, review questions and study guides were all that were really needed to succeed in this class. I definitely struggled in the lab portion of the class, but if you do well enough on the exams (which imo were fair) it won't matter. Would definitely recommend taking Casey for 14CL.

She. Is. AWESOME. Loved her. She's super funny, laid back, and probably the most approachable professor I have ever had. Her lectures match exactly what she asks for on the lab reports, so make sure to take good notes so you can see how to do the problems in the lab reports. For our class, she made the midterm not count toward your grade if you did significantly better on the final, so I got like a 70 on the midterm (I didn't study at all, it really wasn't that hard, average was in the low 80s) But since I did really well on the final, my final was worth much more and my midterm was dropped. I ended up with an A in the class because I followed the post lab instructions closely (post labs=33% of grade compared to midterm=12% and final=25%) and did well on the final. More than half of the class got an A. Go to her office hours, she will do practice problems for you if you ask.

This class is a lot of work. The lab reports are quite long the first half of the quarter, but the second half they get significantly shorter and easier. Pre labs are easy but take 1-2 hours. Her final was fair, definitely challenging but nothing you wouldn't expect, no tricks. She gives lots of practice problems to prepare.

Definitely recommend her! She's someone I'd want to hang out with.
