Overall Mr. J Arch is one of the best professors in the department. He's flexible, understanding, and has a sort of nihilistic twisted sense of humor. He may very well be one of the best lecturers in the school - granted, he's not going to be the guy rousing an audience, but the way he tells stories just hooks you in. He makes history fun, funny, and interesting through his obscure anecdotes.

The only criticism I have of J Arch ties in to his sense of humor. Though he does his job and teaches the class, sometimes he seemed like he didn't even care, arbitrarilly cancelling class for no reason, or cutting class early. In some ways this is great - less work the better, right? But I think it reflected in several of our final grades when we didn't quite get what we wanted, mainly because we didn't have the opportunity to clarify and talk to him in class.

But besides his laissez faire approach to holding the class (he's so laid back he doesn't care to be in class too long) he's an incredible resource, mind, and orator.
