This class can be very tedious and challenging. But you must have faith in Evy as a teacher. She is doing her best to make the information as accessible as possible. The course will test your ability to read critically and write clearly, as it should. I am grateful that Evy made herself available to speak with me about the different theories we encountered in the class by phone, particularly since her office hours overlapped with my working schedule. She was also fantastic (and very generous with her time) in communicating with me by email. I must say, the course was hard, I spent a lot of time thinking about the ideas, and I am grateful that she was just as devoted to us as her students. The only downfall was the exam. Ohmygod, the exam. The question it raised for me was what she wanted to accomplish through it. Did she want to use the exam as an opportunity to challenge us, her students, to review and analyze what we had learned? Because that's not what happened. It was rote and random. You either knew it or you didn't. And in that regard, the exam was a failure and the major downfall of this course. But on the upside, I firmly believe that Evy reflects on this, and I hope one day, she will have time and devotion to revamping this aspect of the course. And in the interim, I advise everyone to take notes and make flashcards on key ideas.
