What in Feminism Interests You: Reproductive Rights, Representaions of Women in the Media

What Does Feminism Mean to You?: Feminism means choice. The choice to become President of the United States, an
exotic dancer, a mother—- or all of the above.

Favorite Quote: "Is one woman too much for you?" --Xena: Warrior Princess

Favorite Class: Soc/WS/LGBT M167 (Contested Sexualities) with Prof. Linda Van Leuven! She’s wonderful!

Favorite Book: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

What You Like About FEM: Thanks to Linda, Tiffany, and Andrew… the office is no longer ze dungeon! O_o. But in all seriousness, FEM provides progressive young men and women with a voice that is usually drowned out by mainstream media. I love FEM for providing such a wonderful outlet for liberal pro-woman ideas. Also, who doesn’t like working with awesome like-minded individuals?

Interests: Writing, Art, Games, Anime...
Feminist Icon: Dorothy Parker (feminist poet and critic)
What in Feminism Interests You: Equality regardless of gender.
What Does Feminism Mean to You?: As all equal rights movements, it is a struggle to access each individual as such (an individual) rather than giving in to stereotyping or classifying based on easily identifiable often physical features such as gender, race, religion, social class, clothing choice, etc...
Favorite Quote: I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad. -cheshire cat
Favorite Class: So far from the ones I took Creative Writing classes, New Queer Brit Lit (Eng), Screenwriting, Fiction and Film.
Favorite Book: Les Liaisons Dangereuse by Choderlos de Laclos
What you like about FEM: From what I've seen so far of FEM, it seems rather than taking the extreme radical view of kill off men and have them suffer for their crimes against women (a form of prejudice in itself) FEM is more concerned with bringing equality regardless of gender, embracing each individual, recognizing that diversity can exist within a group (feminist doesn't mean man-hater, could be a women, woman can be feminine or not), educating the public about what feminism really is and inviting people of all background to participate it in, and discussing feminist issues in everything from
politics to popular culture.

Feminist Icon: What a tough question.  I recently read a newspaper article from high school in which I said Margaret Thatcher, but I have some serious doubts about the authenticity of that quote.  Today I think I've returned to my third grade hero, Queen Elizabeth I of England (or perhaps Boadicea, who totally kicked Roman ass).
