A Taste of Honey (D: Tony Richardson, 1961, 100m, starring Rita Tushingham, Robert Stephens)
Something of a feminine riposte to the "angry young men" of the British New Wave, Richardson's fourth feature follows a working class teenager's encounters with love, sex, class, and life. Based on the taboo-busting play by Shelagh Delaney, the film features great lines like "I dreamt about you last night and I fell out of bed twice" and gritty urban cinematography.
All Crank screenings are free and open to all.
