A behind-the-scenes look at the world of fashion, featuring unprecedented access to the high temples of Haute Couture, Valentino: The Last Emperor follows the legendary designer Valentino Garavani during the colorful and dramatic closing act of his celebrated career. This intimate exploration of the singular world of one of Italy's richest and most famous men tells the story of his extraordinary life and work, and also explores the larger themes affecting the fashion business today. But at the heart of the film is the unique relationship between Valentino and his business partner and companion of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti.
Presented in collaboration with UCLA's Documentary Salon.
Director Matt Tyrnauer in person for Q&A!

"smart and sumptuous...Seldom has a film explored such exotica as Valentino's world -- the gowns, the galas, the villas, the private jets, the redundant pugs...with such a sense of momentous drama behind the glitz." - Joe Morgenstern, WALL STREET JOURNAL
