Notes on the Port of St. Francis/Fat Feet/23 Skidoo (D: Frank Stauffacher/Red Grooms/Julian Biggs, 1952/1967/1964, 22m/20m/8m)
Three independent shorts about cities from the middle of the last century. Notes on the Port of St. Francis, after Robert Louis Stevenson, is an impressionistic portrait of San Francisco, narrated by Vincent Price. Fat Feet, by multifaceted artist Red Grooms, focuses on people in the city, or, more specifically, their feet. 23 Skidoo, in contrast gives an uneasy portrait of a city without residents.
